How do I buy an event ticket in Tokyo this month/last minute?
This month's tickets or last minute tickets can be hard to find as you may not be sure how to get them, but the clock is ticking... Here are some tips on what to book for last-minute events.
1. Plan from what you can purchase
If you are planning to buy tickets for an event at the last minute, you may want to know which options are more likely to be available. Here are some tips for each genre.
1. Soccer: Usually soccer tickets are available and will not be sold out except for Kawasaki Frontale (due to the size of the stadium) or super popular tickets (e.g.derby game, play-off etc.). Soccer matches are usually played on weekends and during the day, except in the summer when they start in the evening. You can check what's still available in our Soccer section.

2. Kabuki: Kabuki tickets can be found on some weekdays, especially for the more expensive seat types. Their performances usually run for several weeks at the same venue, so you may be able to find a day that is not fully booked (but most likely not at weekends). You can check the Kabuki section of our listings to see what's still available.

3. Music festivals: Larger music festivals are usually available right up until the last minute - if the venue is in an outdoor location, they do not have small capacities. These days, however, top-tier festivals (such as Summer Sonic) tend to sell out early, and if the event runs over several days, tent and car park tickets may be sold out.

4. Fight: The big events can be sold out, but even the more respectable ones are usually run by the indie size. You will have plenty of choice.

5. Sumo: It may seem impossible to get last minute tickets for sumo, but there are a few options - if you are lucky there is a Japan Tour around Tokyo (called Jungyo), or you can watch sumo wrestlers practice instead, which is quite often available and also accepts last minute bookings.

6. Baseball: Baseball tickets are also hard to come by, especially at the last minute, but some of the weekday games might be available. Yakult Swallows / Seibu Lions can be the most available (especially for weekdays). If you are not too particular about the team, university baseball tickets may sometimes be available, which are certainly cheaper and more available.

2. Check schedule and go to the venue directly
If you find some tickets from our list above, it means that tickets are still available and not sold out as of the updated date. In this case, the organiser will usually set up a box office so that you can go straight to the venue and buy your tickets. They usually do not accept credit cards, so make sure you have enough cash with you!
3. Try some tourist attractions too
You can also try some tourist attractions that are also good options. Below are examples of some of the most popular destinations.
